Cashew
export targets Rs. 50 Billion mark by 2015 |
Cashew Export
Promotion Council of India (CECPI), which
is celebrating its Golden Jubilee, is targeting
exports worth Rs 5,000 crore by 2015. The
council is also aiming at employment generation
of 10 lakh by that year, according to Mr
Walter D'Souza, Chairman, CECPI. He said
that the targets could be achieved by increasing
the domestic crop size to about 12.5 lakh
tonnes in a phased manner. The Directorate
of Cashewnut and Cocoa Development, under
the Union Ministry of Agriculture, has chalked
out definite plans in this respect.
